Who is not eligible for Hallmark Registration ?
If a jeweller’s hallmark registration is cancelled in accordance with sub-regulation
- 1(e) of Regulation 7 of the BIS (Hallmarking) Regulations, 2018, the jeweller is not eligible to apply for a hallmark registration certificate until one year has passed since the date the order was passed
- A jeweller who has been found guilty under the Act's provisions is ineligible to apply for registration for one year following the date of such finding.
However, note that BIS has the right to revoke the registration of any company or individual who is ineligible to apply for a Hallmark Registration Certificate but who nonetheless obtained one through an online portal like Registrations.
